How do I change email addresses for CPCUG ListServ email lists.

To change an email address first subscribe using the new address, and once it is receiving email, unsubscribe from the old address.

The footer of many of our ListServ email lists shows the exact syntax for subscribing or unsubscribing by email. Some but not all of our email lists have a special email address which accomplishes the subscription or un-subscription without more. You just send a blank email from the affected email account to that special address. For example
        DELPHI-PSIG-A-subscribe-request@LISTSERV.CPCUG.ORG
An email sent to this address will subscribe to the Programmers' SIG (PSIG)'s Announcement list. In this example, the list name is PSIG-A.

Alternatively, you can use a command message, that works like those special email addresses and for lists that do not have those special addresses.

In either case you need to send from the email address involved, and you need to know the exact name of each list you want to change.

To Subscribe:
• Once you know the exact name of the List you want to Subscribe to, write an email from the account you want to use in the subscription to
         listserv@listserv.cpcug.org
This send to address works for all lists
• In the body of the email put the following line:
         SUBscribe {Email List Name} {Your First Name} {Your Last Name}
where you replace the bracketed text with your details. For example, for the CONENT-D list:
        SUBscribe CONENT-D John Doe
• You may be blocked from CPCUG Lists if you do not subscribe with a recognizable name. You do not need to be a CPCUG Member for most of our Email Lists. The subject maybe blank if you wish.
• You will receive a confirmation email from CPCUG, which you must respond to within 24 hours, for the subscription to take effect. If you
have mistyped the text, you may get a error reply instead.

You can, alternatively, use the LISTSERV web interface by clicking on Email Lists on the Main Menu above, and following the instructions there. If you have not established a subscriber login, you need to start by creating a CPCUG listserv account and password. Once logged in, go to Subscriber Corner to manage your lists. For security reasons you must know the name of the list involved; they are not displayed

To Unsubscribe
• Once you know the exact name of the List you want to cancel your subscription to, write an email from the account use in the original subscription to
      listserv@listserv.cpcug.org
This works for all lists.
• In the body of the email put the following line:
      UNSUBscribe {Email List Name} {Your First Name} {Your Last Name}
where you replace the bracketed text with your details. For example,
      UNSUBscribe CONENT-D John Doe
• You may be blocked from CPCUG Lists if you do not subscribe with a recognizable name. You do not need to be a CPCUG Member for most of our Email Lists. The subject maybe blank if you wish.
