Speaker: Jim Whelan heads ProActive Corporation. He has worked on strategic and project planning with small- to medium-sized companies as well as with associations and law firms. He believes that every organization (and individual) can achieve its goals through planning and focusing on the outcome. 

Jim has conducted seminars for many organizations including American Management Association, American Conference Institute, and Institutional Investor Conference. His challenges have included planning and implementing the relocation of a corporate headquarters and 400 jobs from New York to Washington, DC; starting and growing a bank; and revamping a corporate collection system involving 500 banks.

Several times a year a smaller group (usually about 8 to 12) goes to Nanny O'Brien's (directly across the street from the library at 3319 Connecticut Avenue, NW, 202-686-9189, open 2 pm Saturday to 2 am Sunday) or another local establishment for continued conversation, networking, and refreshment following the meeting. (Participants pay for their own beverages and food.)
