Setting Up a Web Server for Your Business
This seminar will explain the fundamentals of setting up a Web server for a business. The talk will cover the tradeoffs of co-locating Web servers versus hosting your own, the administration of Web servers, an overview of tools available to build and maintain a Web site, and ways to build a Web server on a tight budget. A demonstration of building a Web server for a small office/home office (SOHO) will be given at the end of the talk.

He is currently Technical Account Manager, East Coast, for Linuxcare, providing professional services for major corporate and federal government clients. Before joining Linuxcare, Frank was Vice President, Engineering, for Glebe Electronics, Inc. Frank Hum has worked with numerous Government agencies, Fortune 500 firms, and small firms on information technology (IT) systems. He is a contributing author for Linux Unleashed, Fourth Edition, and SuSE Linux Unleashed, published by SAMS publishers. Mr. Hum received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Duke University and his Masters in Information Management from George Washington University.
