UHU Annandale Setup (June 15, 2002)
"Observing Technology" is a CPCUG-sponsored TV show shown
on Montgomery Community Television, channel 21, and possibly other
community cable
stations.
The host of the show is CPCUG President Dennis Courtney.
The producer of the show is CPCUG Digital Video SIG Chair Merrill M. Hessel.
Appearing on the first show in January 2004 were Tammy Arnold of Toshiba America, Nayib Aljure of The Computer Place, and Geoffrey Snowman of Microsoft.
A new show is created each month and broadcast several times the last
week of the month.

CPCUG Monitor Wins New Recognition in Several Categories at Intergalactic 12 in New York
The New York PC Users Group 1999 Intergalactic 12 User Group Newsletter Contest, held just ahead of PC Expo in New York City in June, was sponsored by Adobe Systems Incorporated. The Monitor was entered in the Large Publications category (for publications of more than 26 pages).
Design
The Monitor was named Winner
for Best Design in a two-way tie with the Journal of Washington
Apple Pi.
Columns
The Monitor was designated
Runnerup for Best Columns, with columns by Rich Schinnell, Gene
Gould, and Paul Shapiro.
Features
The Monitor was named Winner
for Best Features in a two-way tie with PC Alamode, the magazine
of the Alamo PC Organization.
Overall
The Monitor was named Winner
for Best Design in a two-way tie with the Journal of Washington
Apple Pi.
Design of Electronic Format Newsletter
The Monitor was designated
RunnerUp for Best Design.
The CPCUG Monitor received one of two Honorable Mentions awarded for Best Overall User Group magazine in the First Annual APCUG Editors of Excellence Awards Contest at Fall COMDEX. CPCUG's prize is a copy of JASC Software's Quick View Plus.
In the New York PC Users Group Intergalactic 11 1998 User Group Newsletter Contest, in the Spring of 1998, CPCUG's Monitor was named a Winner in a two-way tie in the category of "Best Features" in a Large Newsletter. The Monitor was also designated Runnerup for "Best Overall" among Large Newsletters. CPCUG's prizes were Adobe Acrobat 3.0 and JASC Software's Paint Shop Pro 5.
