An Automated On-line Radiology Database

This program is designed with the intent of simplifying the process of cataloguing digital radiology media for a user with minimal computer experience. Previously designed graphics packages are effective at importing graphics data. However, as the amount of imported information increases, it becomes cumbersome to retrieve and organize. The system is accessed using a web browser. The system provides searching and recording capabilities for .jpeg and .gif files. The program greatly reduces space management and cost difficulties associated with maintaining a large number of radiology cases.

An Automated On-line Radiology Database was the topic at our April 26th meeting of the HTML SIG. Sean Leventhal of Montgomery Blair High School wrote this perl application for the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He walked us through his design, development and implementation for an in-depth look at a production Web application in perl and common gateway interface.
